Biography
Was a member of ASTD in North Louisiana (from 1982-1993, having served as president and chair of the 1991 ASTD Region 7 Conference (LA, TX, OK, AR & NM). Then an active ASTD member in Baton Rouge from 1993-2001 ... serving as Treasurer from 1996-2001 when I returned to college teaching and could not attend the meetings because of a conflict with my teaching schedule. For a number of years, I did the annual financial review for ASTD-BR.
Professionally, I earned my Ph.D. in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Purdue University in 1975, after which I was on the faculty at LSU-Shreveport from 1975-1993 in both the psychology and management departments. I have been licensed as a psychologist since 1977, and have maintained a management consulting practice on a full-time or part-time basis depending on my academic commitments. I relocated to Baton Rouge in 1993, have taught in the management department at LSU and the psychology department at Southern University.
I am currently President of the Baton Rouge Area Society of Psychologists and the Unified Jewish Congregation of Baton Rouge's brotherhood. Additionally, I am President-Elect of the Exchange Club of Baton Rouge (which I started in 1996) and Treasurer of the Inter-Civic Council of Greater Baton Rouge, having served as it's president in 2009.
