About our speaker:
Dr. Mechelle Roberthon is a Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD), Modern Classroom Certified Trainer (MCCT), Microsoft Office Specialist (MOS), and a keynote/workshop presenter. Her background includes, but is not limited to, facilitating various workplace culture topics, adult learner engagement, learning management system administration, improving internal performance workflows, and establishing collaborative work relationships. She is the CEO of her own organizational development agency. Dr. Roberthon received a Doctor of Education in Learning and Organizational Change from Baylor University. She holds a Master of Science in Education with a specialization in Training and Performance Improvement.
Globally she is a member of the Association of Talent Development, where she has published several works by magazine, research report commentary, and blogs. In 2024, Dr. Roberthon graced the cover of CIO Views Magazine as the 10 Most Influential Black Corporate Women to Watch in 2024. She also partners with Brand State University, a comprehensive training provider, by delivering several professional development courses.
In Lafayette, Louisiana, Dr. Roberthon actively contributes to her community. She serves on the board of the local chamber of commerce, One Acadiana, and she serves on the Industrial Development Board whose function is, “To promote, stimulate, develop, and advance the business prosperity and economic welfare of the Parish of Lafayette.” Dr. Roberthon is also a board member for AMI Kids, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering young people to discover their true potential. In 2022, she completed her community’s flagship leadership program, Leadership Lafayette (Class 35). In that same year, the Girl Scouts of Louisiana Pines to the Gulf Council honored her as a Woman of Distinction, and in 2020, she was named a 20 under 40 recipient by The 705, a young professionals association. Dr. Roberthon is an experienced adjunct professor, and an experienced instructor in career and professional development, having taught over 500 corporate courses, consistently earning exceptional evaluations.

Event cancellations received at least 48 hours prior to the event may be eligible to receive a refund for the event registration. Eligible cancellations will be accepted via email to treasurer@atdbatonrouge.org. All refund requests must be made by the member or credit card holder. Requests for cancellations after the stated deadline will not be eligible for transfer or refund.
