Join us for this special ATD meeting June 25th from 8am to 12 Noon! ATDBR members extraordinaire Susana Lee, Mechelle Roberthon, and Regina Leingang were all selected this year to present at the ATD ICE conference that was canceled for May 2020 due to COVID. It is a HUGE honor to be selected to present and we cannot be more proud of these professionals. We’ve invited Susana, Mechelle and Regina to present their ICE sessions to our chapter at our June membership meeting. You won’t want to miss this exciting mini-conference!
CODE BLUE: Reviving Dead Facilitation Skills Stat
The heart of this session is for trainers to understand that facilitation is not only about being informative but being entertaining too. Too many times we've sat in trainings with a very knowledgeable person presenting content that would never be remembered; let alone understood and acted upon. Poor facilitation is forgotten content. Attendees will learn the symptoms of poor audience engagement, how to connect with their audience, and how to create an engaging learning environment.
Presenter: Mechelle Roberthon
Mechelle Roberthon is a Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD) through the Association of Talent Development. Her background includes training delivery, performance improvement, managing learning programs, and interpersonal/business/personal skills. Currently, she is pursuing a Doctorate of Education in Learning and Organizational Change from Baylor University. She holds a Masters of Science in Education with a specialization in Training and Performance Improvement. Mechelle is also an experienced career and professional development instructor. She has taught over 500 corporate courses with her evaluations consistently rating above average. Her dynamic teaching style has become a favorite amongst learners.
SESSION TWO: THE MASTERMIND MANAGER
Would you like to see your managers collaborating more often? Decrease those silos? Upgrade your new manager training? This session will provide you with a mastermind experience, highlight the benefits, and share tools for implementation in your organization.

Presenter: Dr. Susana Reyes Lee
Susana Reyes Lee, PhD, CPTD is the Dream Career Doctor. She is working her brand at Baker Concrete Construction Enterprises where she is empowering front line leaders to rebuild their own brand and confidence, shatter the status quo, and strengthen their company's brand through their followers. As the Field Training Specialist, this role allows her to draw from her strong Spanish bilingual skills and extensive leadership development experience.
Dr. Lee is president and founder of Dream Career Doctor, an skills development, career coaching, and leadership development firm. She offers training on Microsoft Office applications, Servant Leadership, personal branding, and presentation skills. As a corporate training and organizational development executive with over 20 years of experience, she has designed, delivered, and managed face-to-face, blended, virtual, and eLearning programs.
Her facilitation style will captivate, empower, and impact you. She has recertified her Certified Professional in Talent Development (CPTD formerly CPLP) through 2021. She holds a Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and PhD-Leadership and Human Resource Development from Louisiana State University (Geaux Tigers!). She has served on the ATD Baton Rouge chapter board for six years. She enjoys participating in programs that encourage students with early college and career planning. Her most favorite thing to do is to cheer for her three children whether it is in soccer, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, cheerleading, or volleyball. She also enjoys supporting her husband as an unpaid photographer in his business!
SESSION THREE: CREATING COMPETENCY-BASED LEADERSHIP PROGRAM
In this session, Regina Leingang will share her real-life lessons from implementing a competency-based leadership program in her workplace. She will discuss how to conduct a needs analysis, how to develop the right competencies, and how to measure effectiveness. If you are interested in developing the leadership in your organization, you won’t want to miss this session.
Understand how a needs analysis was conducted in order to assist with the identification of leadership talent.
Comprehend how to leverage the gaps identified and developing competencies to assist with filling in and further developing those gaps

Regina Leingang is a Leadership Development Consultant at the Baton Rouge General Health System. She is a graduate of LSU (B.S. 2005, MPA 2009, and Ph.D. 2013). Regina began her career with the Baton Rouge General in 2015 as their first Leadership Development Consultant. Regina has over 10 years of experience with the State of Louisiana in various roles and organizations before advancing to the Health Care arena. Regina is a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, certified Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), and Certified Professional within the Society for Human Resources (SHRM-CP). Regina is also a DiSC® facilitator and has conducted numerous workshops as well as a Master TeamSTEPPS trainer teaching people and teams’ strategies and tools to enhance their performance. Regina has held multiple roles with the Association for Talent Development (ATD), formerly American Society of Training and Development (ASTD) – Baton Rouge Chapter as Past-President, President, President-Elect, Vice President of Membership, and Programming to name a few. She is also a national member of the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM), and a local member of Greater Baton Rouge SHRM. Regina is currently in Leadership Baton Rouge’s class of 2020. Regina is an active Baton Rouge Area Chamber (BRAC) Ambassador, Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society Board Secretary, and President of her Homeowners Association. In her spare time Regina enjoys spending time with friends, family, and cheering on the LSU tigers and the New Orleans Saints.

As soon as you complete the registration process, you will be guaranteed a seat at this event. The completed registration process initiates an invoice from your ATD Baton Rouge Chapter to you that may be paid online, by mail, or on the day of the event.
Event Cancellations received at least 48 hours prior to an event may be eligible to receive a full refund. Cancellations will be accepted via e-mail and should be sent to the Treasurer at email@example.com All refund requests must made by the member or credit card holder. Refunds will be credited back to the original method of payment within 30 days from the date the payment was received. Requests for cancellations received after the stated deadline will not be eligible for a refund.
ATD Baton Rouge Chapter
Your ATD Baton Rouge Chapter may have to pay for your meal and other fees if you register and then cannot attend. Please help us protect your chapter’s finances. You can submit cancellations at least 48 hours before the event; otherwise, we will have to invoice you to cover these costs. If that should happen, we will be happy to accept your registration for future events as soon as you have settled your outstanding balance.
What happens if I register and then cannot attend an event?
If you cancel at least 48 hours prior to the event, you will not be charged. If you’ve already made payment, we will be happy to issue you a refund. If you cannot cancel before 48 hours, please feel free to send someone else in your place. Kindly send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org, so we can have materials prepared for that individual. Our goal is to make sure that person feels as welcomed as possible. :)
