October 2021 ATDBR Virtual Meeting

Topic: Technology Disruption is Not a Trend, But Is it a Business Imperative?

Session Summary:

Disruption via technology will continue to be a reality for organizations and talent development functions. Talent development professionals must have the ability to identify, select, and implement the right learning and talent technologies that serve the best interests of the organization and its people. Practitioners should be able to identify opportunities to adapt and leverage the right technologies at the right time to meet organizational goals

With so many choices for HR Technology, it’s difficult to know what the right path is. Is bigger better? Is it about price alone? Do most technology platforms basically do the same thing? Am I supposed to be a technology expert in order to know what to purchase? There are many considerations to explore.

Major Points:

  • Analyzing and Surveying for gaps in process and current technology
  • Defining the problem to be solved
  • Garnering support from stakeholders
  • Rightly demonstrating software and platforms
  • Creating a testing environment
  • Communicating the changes and creating a plan for such change
